The short version

The MLA header generator runs in your browser. We do not receive or store the student name, instructor, course, date, title, or last name you enter.

Information saved on your device

If you select “Save my details on this device,” the generator stores those details in your browser’s local storage. The information stays on that device until you clear it using the generator or your browser settings. Saving is optional and off unless you choose it.

Document generation

Word documents are generated locally in your browser. Your entered details and generated file are not uploaded to our server.

Analytics choice

Google Analytics loads only if you select “Allow analytics.” It helps us understand page visits and anonymous feature usage, such as whether a download button was used. We never send names, instructor details, courses, dates, paper titles, generated documents, or copied text to Analytics. Google may process device, browser, approximate location, and usage information under its own privacy terms. If you decline, Analytics is not loaded. You can reset your choice by clearing this site’s local storage.

Server logs and other services

Our hosting provider may process basic technical request data such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamps for security and delivery. This version does not use advertising, account systems, payment processing, or cloud paper storage.

Children and students

We do not ask for age, school, student profiles, or account registration. Please do not enter sensitive personal information beyond what you need to format your paper.
